Husky 6-in-1 Multi-Function Pliers

I’m back with another post about tools. This time, it’s all about some pliers. These Husky 6-in-1 multi-function pliers came into my possession recently, and I’ve been finding reasons to put them to use. (NOTE: this post contains affiliate links. WHY PLIERS?

Well, good question. I’m always looking for tools that do multiple jobs, and these do that for sure. I knew I would need to swap some plugs in my shop, so I definitely knew these would come in handy. Sometimes, tools that have multiple functions are not good at any one of the tasks, but these pliers are proving otherwise so far.

THE TASK

Back at the end of last year, I purchased a large dust collector. I would say it sucked, but it didn’t really. Well, not the right way at least! ha. It is a 2-stage machine and it is supposed to put all of the large chips into the drum and filter out the fine dust through the HEPA filter. Well, it was putting everything through the HEPA side. Anyway, that’s a story for another day. But the company did send me a new machine, and they do not come with any plug on them. I had to remove the plug from the previous machine and hook it up to this new one.

My older brother is a wiz with electrical stuff, and since he was there helping me move this beast of a machine into place, he grabbed the pliers and went to town, swapping the plug for me. I told him to wait so I could shoot some video of it, and I’m glad I did. To watch him work and use different parts of these pliers was pretty fun, frankly. He just flew through the steps, and it appeared as if the pliers were ones that had been in his tool bag for years. He used them with a familiarity that reassured me about these pliers.

THE DETAILS

So, what are some of the details about these pliers that I like most? Well, for starters, they have long-nosed pliers on the end, which are useful even if you’re not doing anything electrical. I most often grab for some pliers with a long nose. And of course, you can do any wire stripping you need to, for stranded wire and solid wire. There is a really cool feature that I’ve not seen on other pliers though…these have bolt cutters. You actually take a bolt and thread it into the hold near the handle to the point you want it cut. Then, you squeeze down and it cuts the bolt off right where you wanted! Plus, then when you unthread it back out, it kind of cleans up the threads. I’ve cut bolts just by using the shear part of other pliers, and it always seems to kind of damage the threads.

Finally, the last thing that I thought was just the coolest is that the edge of the pliers can act as a file. It has some grooves in it and you can use it like a file. How cool is that?!

WHERE TO PICK THEM UP?

I’ve put a few links in here and you might have already clicked on them, but I wanted to call it out more plainly where you can pick these Husky 6-in-1 pliers up. Use this link to grab them on the Home Depot website and have them shipped straight to your home or ship them to your local Home Depot store and pick them up. Either way is very easy and you’ll like having them around!

I appreciate you following along and stopping by! I’ll be back soon with another post about whatever I’m working on next! I hope you have a great day, whenever it is that you’re reading this!
